Local Chapter Events: Sessions for leaders and local members offered

The following ACDIS chapters plan upcoming networking events. For additional information visit the Local Chapter page of the ACDIS website or visit the ACDIS Blog and click on the “Local Chapters” category.

All networking group leaders are invited to participate in the ACDIS’ leadership conference call Thursday, November 7, noon to 1:30 p.m. (Eastern). The agenda includes:

  • Lessons from year one: Discussion of how two networking groups started
  • Tips for transitioning leadership responsibilities
  • ICD-10 education: What can ACDIS chapters do to help members?
  • National business

Northwest Mountain States: Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah CDI professionals are invited to join a conference call Thursday, October 24, noon pacific, 1 p.m., mountain. For information, email Robin Hetzler at RHetzler@kmc.org.

Ohio: The Southwest Ohio ACDIS Chapter meets Thursday, October 24, 3:30-5:30 p.m., at the Atrium Medical Center, in Middletown. The event features a physician discussing clinical indicators for acute renal failure followed by a discussion and case studies of how to code for conditions in ICD-9 and ICD-10. North Carolina: Meets Friday, November 1, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst. Admission is $40 for chapter members, $45 for non-members, and $50 at the door. For information, contact Leah Taylor at 704-878-7436 or email leah.taylor@iredellmemorial.org.

Pennsylvania: The Southern New Jersey/Philadelphia Regional ACDIS Chapter meets Thursday, November 7, 8-10 a.m., at LaSalle University, Bucks County Center in Newtown, Pa. New Jersey: The NJ ACDIS Chapter meets Friday, November 8, 1:30-4:30 p.m., at Reimbursement Review Associates, Inc., in New Brunswick. Deborah Gardner-Brown, RHIT, CCS, C-CDI, CI-CDI, CDIP, and Sandra Phillips Sperry, RN, MPA, APC, CMC, FACHE, present, “A Strategic Review of CDI Applications and Analysis of the 2014 ICD-10-CM/PCS Coding Guidelines.”  Cost is $69; $59 for NJACDIS members; $39 students. Texas: The Houston ACDIS Chapter meets Thursday, November 14, location at the Spaghetti Warehouse, 901 Commerce St., Houston. For information, email Santa.Lopez@harrishealth.org or budderpat@yahoo.com.

Connecticut: Meets Thursday, November 14, 1:30-3 p.m., at ECHN Hospital in Manchester. The team will discuss their electronic query process and have a representative from their IT department on hand for the discussion. RSVPs requested.
