Editor’s note: ACDIS members have access to tools and forms and a number of educational opportunities through its Web site. ACDIS also makes a number of professional networking opportunities available to all CDI specialists.

New tools
ACDIS members can download these free sample forms and tools by visiting www.cdiassociation.com and clicking on the forms and tools button on the left of the screen.
  • Physician liaison contract and sample job description
  • Physician communication worksheet
  • Clinical documentation review worksheet

CDI Journal
The CDI Journal is always available to members. The quarterly newsletter contains valuable information about association events, case studies of successful CDI programs, articles on how to improve documentation on disease-specific topics, analysis of trends affecting clinical documentation improvement, information on data mining, and strategies to develop compliant, effective physician queries.

The last issue published in January. Members can expect the next issue on April 1. The entire archive of articles is available online.

ACDIS Blog
Many CDI Strategies readers and ACDIS members already know about the ACDIS Blog. It’s become our primary mode of connecting local ACDIS Chapters with individual members. It’s also a place to share interesting articles, hear interesting audio clips, and generally stay connected with the ACDIS crew.

Here’s a sampling of recent headlines from the Blog:
Social networking
As ACDIS continues to grow, we’re reaching out in a variety of ways both to get the word out about ACDIS but also to foster the community of sharing CDI specialists need.

The world of Internet-networking offers a numbers of tools we encourage. For example, you can post a question to ACDIS members, start a discussion, post a meeting invitation, find CDI experts, “chat” instantly with peers, and so much more.

To that end, if you currently have an account on Facebook or LinkedIn please join the ACDIS groups we’ve recently established there.

Those wishing to network can also sign up for CDI Talk. This talk group sends e-mails of your peers’ discussions to your e-mail inbox.

ACDIS Conference
There’s only 99 days left to register for the ACDIS annual conference in Las Vegas. This year, there’s an expanded amount of break-out sessions, a pre-conference option, and the unveiling of the new CDI credential Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist, or CCDS.
